When they decide to pursue their own passion!?

Having been a competitive coach in soccer for 40 years, I am always looking for the character and innovative resilience in a player, or keeper/sweeper. Their willingness to learn and expand their ability to do more. Then, train to become a well-rounded and dynamic contributor to the team, In soccer it would be developing ones ability to use both feet equally well to dribble, pass and score goals. Or, becoming equally effective in all positions on the pitch, and in goal.

After watching Kees's success with his first Head Coaching experience, and how he relates well to parents and kids, I had to accept the reality that his passion for sports is taking him into other areas and competitive sports.

All we should do is to accept and support their goals and ambitions!

As a coach, father and his friend it is good to see that Kees is taking that same mentality into his passion for coaching youth soccer. And, for his role on a men's football team. He is always demonstrating the willingness to do more and work hard to adapt, adjust, improvise and overcome the unexpected. Life is not perfect and neither us the unpredictability of the game - Soccer, Football or whatever.

Making good decisions under pressure consistently is what builds individual and team confidence. It is learning how to be comfortable in uncomfortable situations as an individual, and more importantly as a team, a single-minded unit, that can lead to positive outcomes and success.
