Kees is off to Canada to join The Clan, his new team and future football family at Simon Fraser University, to start as their Punter and Kicker for the 2018 Fall Football Season.

After spending 2 years on the Presidents List at Olympic College, with a 4.0 GPA, playing football and working as a digital marketing specialist, plus as a coach, Kees is taking the next step on a journey that he can share one day.

As his father, friend, professional partner and youth soccer coach, it is difficult to put into words the pride and joy knowing that he will continue working towards his dreams and goals on his own terms. With faith and confidence, I wish him the best life with years of health, happiness, many more friends and much success.

It has been a 21+ year long adventure that included being the witness to some fantastic personal achievements. Especially in sports and coaching, like scoring a goal, as a GK, from his own 18 yard line.

Or, winning a big Nike tournament for his team by winning PK shootouts in the Quarter, Semi-Final and Final Championship match - after a long non-stop drive from Las Vegas, NV to Portland, OR. Helping me coach up a BU10 recreational team and growing it from 10 players to 31 boys in one year. Then, entering a Crossfire Select tournament and winning all rounds to finish as a finalist.

Voetball, Futbol, Football - It's all about excellent teamwork, perfect execution and the desire to win.

Beyond that it's seconds, millimeters, timing and the right touch at full speed. And, understanding who your opponent is, what to do, when to act, why it will work, where opportunities lie and how to get there.

All qualities that can be taught and developed to help kids overcome adversity, make right decisions as they grow up and not just survive, but thrive in today's highly challenging and competitive digital world.
